At DLL, we believe that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) is not a check in the box. It’s an essential element of today’s workplace requiring true collaborations and bold action. Yesterday, May 16th, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board Carlo van Kemenade proved just that, by putting his signature on the CEO DE&I Action Pledge, on behalf of DLL.

Led by a steering committee of CEOs and leaders from Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC, the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion is the largest CEO-driven business initiative that looks at advancing DE&I in the workplace. In signing the pledge, each of the 2,200 CEOs who have signed so far is committing to enacting real, meaningful and lasting change within their organizations.

By signing this pledge, DLL states that we will continue to:

  • Make our workplaces trusting places by creating and maintaining environments that encourage open dialogue around diversity and inclusion.
  • Implement and expand education to help our members recognize and minimize any unconscious blind spots, and to facilitate more open and honest conversations.
  • Share best (and unsuccessful) practices with other companies and encourage them, in turn, to share their successes and challenges with others.
  • Create and share strategic diversity and inclusion plans to prioritize and drive accountability around diversity and inclusion.

DLL HR Leaders Simone Lisboa and Emily Latham who have been leading this important initiative within the company for some time commented: “We recognize that signing of the pledge is only one step in advancing DE&I within our company, but this is highly significant in demonstrating our commitment from the very top.”

“At the same time, we are working on the DLL DE&I Strategy Roadmap, which includes knowledge and best practices shared from our parent company Rabobank and its subsidiary Obvion, as well as rich information collected from a comprehensive benchmarking survey.”

CEO Carlo van Kemenade, who is also on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council of Rabobank said that “Enhancing awareness of DE&I is of vital importance to our current and future success. At DLL, we aim to develop a more diverse and inclusive workforce, taking the progress we have already made one step further, to truly become a purposeful and inclusive place to work.”
